Rebecca & Aiden’s Stunning Mardi Gras Wedding at Stanford Farm, Shrewsbury

A first for Stanford Farm - a Mardi Gras theme.

On a warm and sunny day with a touch of cloud coverage, Rebecca and Aiden’s wedding on 24th August 2024 at the picturesque Stanford Farm near Shrewsbury was nothing short of magical. With a lively Mardi Gras theme, the couple created a vibrant, joyful celebration of love that was a true reflection of their personalities and tastes.

In a modern twist on tradition, Rebecca and Aiden had their legally binding marriage ceremony a few days prior, off-site, but they didn’t want to keep the special moment entirely private. They thoughtfully included a selection of pictures from their legal ceremony on a table at the venue for all their guests to see, giving everyone a glimpse into their private vows.

To mark the occasion, Emily, the Celebrant, led a deeply personal and heartfelt ceremony at Stanford Farm, tailored perfectly to Rebecca and Aiden’s love story. The beautiful setting of the stables provided a rustic and intimate backdrop for the ceremony, which transitioned seamlessly into the celebrations that followed.

The culinary offerings at the wedding were equally unique, with caterer Steve from The Hungry Guy providing a delectable Mexican-themed feast. Guests were treated to mouth-watering sharing platters, including tacos, quesadillas, and grilled meats, perfect for the lively and festive atmosphere. The pièce de resistance was the scrumptious dessert table, a sweet ending to a delicious meal.

The celebration was thoughtfully planned to keep everyone entertained. For the younger guests, Jess and Chloe from Bijou Bus set up a fantastic children’s soft play area within our tipi, ensuring the little ones had as much fun as the adults.

During the ceremony, the sounds of violinist Tom Nuth echoed beautifully throughout the stables, adding a touch of elegance to the day. Afterward, guests moved to the courtyard where Tom continued to play, providing a wonderful ambiance. As the evening progressed, the energy picked up, and the dance floor was kept alive by the talented DJ Jorg Kunning, ensuring the celebration lasted late into the night.

The day before the ceremony, the groom, best man, brides father, and groomsmen carried a solid oak pulpit from our Prop Stop into the cow house. This special piece of furniture was to be used during the wedding breakfast on Saturday, where speeches would be given from it, adding a personal and meaningful touch to the occasion.

There were plenty of thoughtful, personal touches throughout the day, including the creation of the bride’s wedding rings and necklace by her bridesmaid, Kath. These handmade pieces added a unique and intimate element to the celebration, showcasing the deep bond between the couple and their closest friends and family.

Rebecca and Aiden also went the extra mile to ensure their guests had a memorable experience by requesting that their favourite cocktails be served alongside the usual cocktail menu. This small but thoughtful gesture brought a personal touch to the drinks menu, giving guests a taste of the couple’s shared preferences and adding to the celebration’s unique flair.

With stunning weather, incredible food, heartfelt moments, and unforgettable entertainment, Rebecca and Aiden’s wedding at Stanford Farm was truly a day to remember. From the Mardi Gras-inspired theme to the personal touches and beautiful details, it was a perfect celebration of their love and the start of their life together.
