Celebrations of life

A celebration of life party is a beautiful way to honour and remember someone who has passed away. It's typically a more joyful and positive event compared to a traditional funeral, focusing on celebrating the person's life, accomplishments, and the memories they've left behind. These parties often involve sharing stories, looking at photos or videos, playing their favourite music, and enjoying food and drinks together. It's a chance for friends and family to come together, support each other, and celebrate the legacy of their loved one.

Many families prefer to have a relaxed celebration of their loved one’s life and although we are always busy with weddings throughout the year, we always try to accommodate a local family celebration at short notice, we love nothing more than getting people together.

Food and Drink

We have a fully licenced bar and will do our best to provide a specific ‘tipple’ if requested to remember your loved one. We can provide food or you can bring in your own caterers.

A Celebration of Life can be anything from a quiet afternoon tea of an all day party.

Celebrant

If you would like a full ceremony, we have a local Celebrant who will be happy to assist you with all the arrangements.

A celebrant at a celebration of life party plays a crucial role in guiding the event and ensuring it honours the memory of the departed in a meaningful way. Here are some key responsibilities of a celebrant at such an occasion:

  1. Planning and Coordination: The celebrant works with the family and event organizers to plan the structure and flow of the celebration. This includes deciding on the format, selecting readings or speeches, and coordinating with other speakers or performers.

  2. Facilitating the Ceremony: During the event, the celebrant leads the ceremony or program. This may involve delivering a eulogy or tribute, leading prayers or moments of reflection, and facilitating activities like sharing memories or playing tribute videos.

  3. Creating a Meaningful Atmosphere: The celebrant helps create a warm and meaningful atmosphere that reflects the life and personality of the deceased. This can involve selecting appropriate music, creating a visual display of photos or mementos, and setting up a space for guests to share their memories.

  4. Encouraging Participation: The celebrant encourages guests to participate in the celebration by sharing stories, memories, or thoughts about the person being honored. They may also invite guests to participate in symbolic acts, such as lighting candles or releasing balloons.

  5. Providing Emotional Support: One of the most important roles of a celebrant is to provide emotional support to the grieving family and guests. This includes offering words of comfort, creating a safe space for expression of emotions, and helping people feel connected and supported during a difficult time.

Overall, the celebrant's goal is to create a meaningful and uplifting experience that celebrates the life and legacy of the departed while providing comfort and support to those who are mourning.

Please just get in touch and we will work with you to provide the celebration your want.
